For me that is!
So, I start night school on May 26 and go for almost a full year. One of the benefits of this school is no matter where you go, they will always find you a job... for the rest of your life! Part of the schooling is professional development, where they help you with resumes, marketing strategies and interviewing. They have a clinical internship on Saturdays (and Sundays) where we have to massage 5 people in 5 hours. There are a few things that I recognize will be out of my comfort zone... like the trip to the cadaver lab and the disrobing for practice massage with fellow students. The guy at admissions assured me this is all done very modestly. I didn't even ask him about it, but I am sure he could read the concern all over my face. LOL Those who know me have doubted my ability to do this because of this portion of the course. But, I am pretty sure if I can get through that, I can do anything!
It's going to be tough... no doubt about it. My confidence is at an all time low. It's been some time since I have been to school or even worked, but I am sure the excitement I feel will help with that confidence level. I have had so many wonderful people supporting me through this time in my life and I am sure they will be my biggest cheerleaders when times get tough. But, most of all I have to recognize the Lord's hand in this.
I am most excited to do this for my mom. She is in so much pain daily with arthritis. She and I are so alike in that we both like to get out there and explore. However, the pain she feels limits that. I can't wait to work on her and help her relieve some of that pain.
There is so much more to tell about, but this is getting rather lengthy! I am just really excited to get started!

I saw this tonight on my friend Jenny's Facebook page and got the chills! I couldn't help but smile the whole way through. I love her Scottish accent! I love the expressions when she opens her mouth to sing! I hope this Susan gets her dream! Perhaps Broadway?

I finally posted Christmas pictures. :) They are in the album entitled Christmas 08. Sorry I am such a slacker. I have so many more things to post in these albums. I'll get there.

For those of you who are fans of The Sound Of Music and/or dance and choreography you might just appreciate this. This is so fun! I saw it on my friend Tara's blog the other day and Brenna and I were captivated by it. She said it is part of the T-mobile campaign. AMAZING! Take a look here!
It put a smile on my face!

Saturday night I switched our Book of Mormon reading over to read in Matthew in the New Testament about the Savior's last days.
My kids were tired, lying down with their eyes closed after a long day of play. I started reading with the hopes that the information would just be absorbed into their thoughts. When it came to the part about Judas and his betrayal, in chapter 26:24 it says "it had been good for that man if he had not been born", for some reason I was just struck by that. I started saying to them how monumental that was for the Savior to say that. I shared many deep thoughts about that with my almost sleeping children and thought perhaps I was just talking to myself.
General conference weekend is definitely something we, as Latter-day Saints look forward to watching every six months. We get to watch church on TV in our PJs. The biggest blessing is that we get to hear from our beloved prophet and the other general authorities of the church. The profound messages and music shared during conference always uplifts my spirit and empowers me to be better.
I want the same thing for my children.
So, during Elder Holland's talk about the Savior, he mentioned the very scriptures I read the night before and Jake's ears perked up and he sat up and said "hey, we read about that last night!" He started to listen more intently to the message that was being shared.
Just nice to know they're listening even if you think they aren't. I guess this just confirms to me how much their valiant little spirits crave the spiritual side of life, even while they are tuckered and dozing.

I received this from a darling young friend who inspires me. I don't know who wrote it, but it sure echos how I am feeling right now. So much of this describes exactly what I am striving to do and the rest of it inspires me to try even harder.
Life is hard right now, harder than it's ever been, but it is good. I am welcoming these challenges that are in my path. I am welcoming the good and the not so good.
